This literary candle is inspired by the Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, English detective novelist and playwright whose books have sold more than 100 million copies and have been translated into some 100 languages. Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot is a Belgian private detective, and has been dubbed as the greatest detective in the world, well known for his magnificent moustache as is the combination of order, method and of course, his “little grey cells.” Poirot’s use of psychology and extensive knowledge of human nature is why audiences from all over the world celebrate his cases. Poirot first appeared in 1920 in Agatha Christie’s first published novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. It was there that the very first description of Poirot appeared. "He was hardly more than five feet four inches but carried himself with great dignity. His head was exactly the shape of an egg, and he always perched it a little on one side…The neatness of his attire was almost incredible; I believe a speck of dust would have caused him more pain than a bullet wound." Every case in a Hercule Poirot mystery ends with a dramatic finish to regale his brilliance and confirm that he is indeed the best. “The little grey cells, my friend, the little grey cells! They told me.” is one of the famous quotes from the book, The Murder on the Links. Poirot’s method is to use the “grey cells” of the brain, which is a simple truth for many aspects of our lives. We wanted the scent to be clear as his methods and pleasant as Hercule himself. Poirot Methods scent is an intricate fusion of woody and floral aromas. Hints of sweet freesia and ozone open up to sun-ripened fig surrounded by light jasmine, cherry blossom, and geranium. Notes of green leaves, bamboo, and moss add a lush, green quality that’s balanced by nuances of patchouli and saffron.
